Constantinato silver necklace with a blue sapphire

Silver pendant with a blue sapphire 0,8ct created from an original heirloom byzantine coin, called Constantinato which belongs to the designer’s family and is dated in 1143-1180 A.C.  Constantinato coins hold the power of an amulet, according to Greek folk tradition and one side presents the bust of Jesus Christ and the other Emperor Manuel 1st Comnenus.

The essence of work of the designer Danai Gianneli can be expressed in three words: natural light & colors. Her creations express a passion for diachronic simplicity and relaxed luxury, while her inspiration comes from symbols, images & shapes of nature, past eras and also unique heirlooms of her family and their story.
