Bridal pearl clasp earrings

Earrings composed of a grosgrain ribbon base, embroidered with pearls. A clasp covered in grosgrain conceals a clip-on fastening.  Earrings measure 7cm in length and 3.5 cm in width.

Johanna’s imagery is derived from natural arrangements and materials are formed into fantastical landscapes, carried out with intricate embroidery. Influences from dressmaking and vintage couture differentiate the anatomy of the jewelry, resulting in statement objects that question the art of embellishment. Beauty is found in non-symmetrical formations that become glamorous ornaments, meant to adorn eccentric necks, ears, heads.
