Η Μελίνα Ξενάκη ολοκλήρωσε της μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές της πάνω στην κεραμική τέχνη το 2014 στο Royal College of Art. Δημιουργώντας από το εργαστήριό της στο ανατολικό Λονδίνο, εμβαθύνει και τελειοποιεί την τεχνική της, πειραματιζόμενη με ποικιλία κεραμικών υλικών και τεχνοτροπιών. Παθιασμένη με τις υφές και την ποικιλία στα γυαλώματα και τα χρώματά της, επιλέγει και συνθέτει όλα τα υλικά της στην αναζήτηση πρωτότυπων και εντυπωσιακών εφέ. Στόχος της είναι να μοιραστεί την αγάπη που τρέφει για την ωμή, λαϊκή, αυθεντική ομορφιά των παραδοσιακών χωριών στα νησιά του Αιγαίου. Εμπνεόμενη από την κυκλαδίτικη αρχιτεκτονική και την αρχαία κυκλαδική τέχνη, η Μελίνα μετατρέπει το άσπρο χρώμα του ασβέστη, το ατέλειωτο γαλάζιο του ουρανού και του πελάγους, και την αυστηρή γεωμετρικότητα των μορφών σε μοναδικά αντικείμενα απο πορσελάνη.                   

Melina Xenaki graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2014. Working from her studio in East London, the maker focuses on perfecting her practice, experimenting with different ceramic materials in search of original and striking effects. She aims to share her love for the raw and authentic beauty of the traditional villages of the Greek islands scattered in the Aegean Sea. Drawing inspiration from the beautiful architectural elements of the Cyclades, Melina turns the whitewashed facades, the endless blue of the sky and the sea into unique objects for the home. Passionate about texture and variation in her glazes, Melina mixes all her materials from scratch, looking to imitate the surface features of paper and the expressive, harmonious, and skillful qualities of calligraphy, meaning beautiful writing in greek.
